Knowivate Search™ focuses on core productivity. It combines multi-source search with locally-stored settings to give you a fast, focused experience without remote tracking.

Multi-Source Search#

Results from the web and Knowivate apps in one list:

  • WWW: Global web content and site information.
  • Wikipedia: Integrated snippets, images, and quick links for general knowledge.
  • Knowivate News: Direct access to real-time news articles.
  • Knowivate Paste: Private and public paste search (when signed in).

Bang Shortcuts (!)#

Use "bangs" to search external sites directly from our search bar. You can access an Integrated Shortcuts Help panel with a live filter to find any shortcut instantly.

  • External: !g (Google), !d (DuckDuckGo), !gh (GitHub), !so (StackOverflow).
  • Tools: !m (Maps), !t (Translate), !yt (YouTube), !dict (Dictionary).
  • App Shortcuts: !news, !paste, !support, !biz.

Smart Widgets#

Instant answers directly on the results page:

  • Advanced Calculator: Automatic calculation for mathematical queries (e.g., 2 + 2) with one-click Copy to Clipboard support.
  • Clock: Local and global time for region-based time queries.

UI & Settings#

Personalize your search experience via the Settings Sidebar or the dedicated Search Settings Page:

  • Visual Layouts: Switch between List, Grid, or Masonry formats with live previews.
  • Interface Elements: Fine-tune density (Compact/Spacious) and toggle specific UI elements to reduce clutter.
  • Source Control: Enable or disable specific results (Wiki, News, etc.) from appearing.
  • Search History: Access your recent search queries directly from the search bar to quickly revisit past results.
